3 words that describe you?
Strategic, resourceful, ambitious.
Someone who inspires you?
Someone who inspires me is the man I was named after, Ali ibn Abi Talib. He inspires me through his patience, wisdom, courage, and deep sense of justice. He was someone who remained dignified and true to his principles, even in the most difficult moments. His example reminds me of the importance of acting with integrity, showing restraint, and always striving to become a better person.
What did your path to this role look like?
My path toward this role wasn’t linear, but it always followed the same common thread: understanding operations, improving the way things are done, and helping teams work better together.
It was built through hands-on experience at Amazon and DoorDash, where I learned how to manage high-volume operations, train teams, structure processes, and solve real-world problems. Over time, I naturally gravitated toward continuous improvement, KPI management, and project management.
What advice would you give someone who wants to do your job?
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty and go deep into the work, even if it means doing the operations yourself. There’s no better way to improve a process than by truly understanding how it works on the ground.
What makes you most proud in your role?
Improving access to healthcare for Quebecers. We’re still far from perfect, but every day, I look for and implement concrete solutions to help us become 1% better, one day at a time.
A TV show or movie you recommend to everyone?
I highly recommend the Lebanese film Capernaum, as well as the Iranian film A Separation. They’re both incredibly moving films that stay with you long after watching and really make you reflect.
