“Caregiving isn’t just something I do, it’s part of who I am.
I was born in China and raised on the South Shore of Montreal, surrounded by a close-knit family where caring for our grandparents was a natural part of life. From a young age, I witnessed how small adjustments could restore a person’s dignity and independence. Those early experiences quietly shaped my future and eventually led me to occupational therapy, where science meets the desire to make everyday life better for others.
My path took me from Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf to the Université de Montréal, where I developed my skills across different healthcare settings. During my final internship, I discovered the world of private practice through Mieux-Être. That experience reshaped my perspective on rehabilitation. I discovered the power of working closely with patients, tailoring solutions that truly fit their lives, and pushing the boundaries of traditional therapy.
To me, being an occupational therapist is about more than recovery. It’s about unlocking potential. Whether someone is working to regain mobility, adapt to a new challenge, or rebuild confidence, I thrive on finding creative and personalized ways to support them. I believe that the most effective therapists are always learning, which is why I continuously expand my knowledge to meet the evolving needs of our population.
Over the last three years, I’ve become more involved in mental health. This has helped me build stronger communication skills and connect with a broader range of patients. Supporting someone as they rediscover their confidence and sense of control - helping them rebuild confidence, regain control, and see themselves as active agents in their own recovery - is deeply rewarding. It reminds me that healing isn’t just physical. It’s also about helping people reconnect with who they are.
What fuels my passion most is seeing that moment when a patient realizes they can do more than they thought. That spark of confidence, that shift in mindset, from doubt to determination, is what makes my work so fulfilling.
Looking ahead, I hope to continue growing as a therapist while also mentoring others who are just starting out. My goal is not only to help people return to daily life but to support them in living it fully. Because healing is more than recovery. It’s about rediscovering what’s possible.”
