“I’m Gina, a clinical nurse with the Mieux-Être team since January 2023.
From a young age, caring for others has always come naturally to me. My interest in health became clearer during a school orientation day, but it was at the age of 14, when a loved one became seriously ill, that my calling truly emerged. I was deeply moved by the work of the nurses - their kindness and attentiveness toward my sister and our family. That moment confirmed my desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
I began my nursing studies at Cégep Saint-Laurent, where I earned my diploma as a practical nurse in 2011. Eager to deepen my knowledge, I continued my education at Université de Montréal to become a clinical nurse. My path led me to CHUM, where I worked for four years in hepatobiliary surgery, before discovering community health at the CLSC. That experience broadened my perspective and introduced me to the challenges of home care. In 2017, I joined a GMF, and in 2023, I became part of the Mieux-Être family.
My greatest inspiration is my mother. Her generous heart, unconditional support, and ability to give without expecting anything in return have shaped the person I am today. I’m deeply grateful to her.
I’m also lucky to have a supportive partner and two children who bring a smile to my face at the end of every workday. Balancing my career and family life hasn’t always been easy, but I’m incredibly proud to have found that harmony. Those precious moments with my loved ones remind me of what truly matters.
Every day, I feel fortunate to work in an environment where I feel at home, surrounded by wonderful colleagues. Their support motivates me to give my best. Being a nurse isn’t just a job, it’s a vocation. Each day allows me to accompany my patients, to listen, and to provide the care they need. Seeing their faces light up, relieved and healthier, is the greatest reward. It reminds me daily why I chose this profession: to bring comfort, hope, and a positive impact to others’ lives.”
